Join Drinking Liberally for this special benefit performance of Will Durst’s Elect To Laugh stand-up comedy show, from 8-10 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Parlor Live Comedy Club in Bellevue.

No matter which side of the partisan aisle you sit, you have to agree that the 2016 election season has already produced an embarrassment of comedy riches.

Ably assisted by his trusty overhead projector, this hilarious 80-minute production reflects Durst’s outraged and outrageous sensibilities, accessing the topical through the jugular, as current as Hillary Clinton’s lead staffer’s latest tweet. This is political humor for people who don’t like politics.

Sweeping both sides of the aisle with a mix of incredulity and common sense, Will Durst transcends party ties. With his trusty motto “You Can’t Make Stuff Up Like This,” Durst has his material regularly delivered at 8 a.m. every morning in the five papers he reads daily. The New York Post has called his comedy “Brilliantly crafted. Satire to admire in a smashing bashing!” and Fox News called him “a great political satirist.”

In addition to performing hundreds of live shows a year, Durst writes a nationally-syndicated weekly column, posts daily jokes to his website and voices radio commentaries. A regular guest on NPR, MSNBC and Fox News, he’s received five Emmy nominations and seven consecutive nominations for the American Comedy Awards Stand Up of the Year.

His 800-plus global television appearances include HBO, “The Today Show,” Letterman, CNN’s “Inside Politics,” “Good Morning America,” Showtime, Comedy Central, “Last Comic Standing,” CBS Morning News, the BBC, CBC, Greek, Scottish, French and Australian TV.

The Parlor Live Comedy Club is located in Lincoln Square, 700 Bellevue Way NE, No. 300, Bellevue. For information, visit www.parlorlive.com.
