Power of Play event set for Wednesday at Meydenbauer Center

This year's Power of Play (PoP) games and interactive event is set for Wednesday at the Meydenbauer Center, 11100 N.E. 6th St. in Bellevue.

The full-day event will feature 40-plus speakers talking about the latest trends and need-to-know information for the video game and immersive entertainment industry.

Attendees will hear from some of the biggest names in the business like Bungie Studios, Xbox, Blizzard, Oculus, Telltale Games, Wizards of the Coast to the best of the indie games like Oxenfree, Ark: Survival, and Spryfox.

PoP will also feature exhibits and demos of the latest in virtual reality, independent games and the 6th Annual Seattle Indie Game Competition.

The evening concludes with an awards presentation a 8 p.m., highlighting Game Executive of the Year, Jesse Rapczak, and Game Changer of the Year, Katy Jo Wright.

Rapczak is a co-founder of Wildcard Studios, the makers of the hit game Ark: Survival. Wright is the director of Gaming for Everyone at Xbox.

Doors open for registration at 9 a.m., with a keynote presentation featuring Shannon Loftis of Xbox at 10 a.m. The Expo Hall opens at noon and the game competition and networking reception begins at 5:45 p.m.

Parking is available onsite for a fee and attendees must be 18 or older.
