Benanti coming to Kirkland Performance Center May 20

Kirkland Performance Center (KPC) will present American television actress, musical theater icon and songwriter, Laura Benanti.

She will take the KPC stage at 8 p.m. on May 20 for a solo performance. Tickets are $55 and still available.

KPC is located at 350 Kirkland Ave in Kirkland.

Benanti is Tony Award winner, with more than five Tony nominations for varying theater and television work. Her most recent nominatioin was for her role as Amalia Balash in the Broadway Musical, “She Loves Me.”

Fans may also recognize her in ABC’s series “Nashville” and the CW’s action drama “Supergirl.” In addition to television work, Benanti is known for her critically acclaimed performance as Elsa Schrader in NBC’s “The Sound of Music Live,” starring Carrie Underwood.

Alongside her Tony success, she is also a reoccurring Drama League, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award winner, with more 20 nominations in her name.

In addition to acting, Benanti is a performer, songwriter and guitarist with a number of solo, studio and concert recordings to date. She currently performs concerts around the country and recently performed for former President Barack Obama at both the Fords Gala and the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C.
